OER Excellence Awards

In conjunction with the Open for Student Success Symposium, the GSU Library is hosting its first ever annual OER Excellence Awards! The OER Excellence Awards are intended to highlight the work of faculty and students using open educational resources for teaching and learning. Nominations for the OER Excellence Awards will be accepted through March 14. A reception to honor the nominees will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. in Library Classroom 1 in the Library North Building.

Nominees must:

• Be a current educator at Georgia State University
• Have used, adapted, or produced an open educational resource for course instruction at Georgia State University
• Meet the description of the category for which they are being nominated

Not familiar with Open Educational Resources (OERs)? As defined by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, Open Educational Resources (OER) are “learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that:

• reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license [AND]
• that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others.”
