We are excited to announce that the New Quiz Evaluation Experience in iCollege is now available for faculty use. This enhanced interface offers a more intuitive and efficient grading workflow, aligning with the updated experiences for Assignments and Discussions. Please note that beginning June 6th, this new evaluation experience will become the default interface for all quiz evaluations.
Visual Tour of the New Quiz Evaluation Experience
The New Quiz Evaluation Experience introduces a two-panel layout designed to streamline the grading process:
- Attempt Navigation: At the top left, a drop-down menu allows you to select specific quiz attempts for evaluation or view the completion summary.
- Filtering Options: A 'Filter' button enables you to display only questions pending evaluation or those that have been retaken, helping prioritize grading tasks.
- User Navigation: Arrows facilitate seamless movement between different users' quiz attempts, streamlining the evaluation process.
- Question Evaluation: Each question displays fields for entering a score and providing feedback. For written response questions, you can attach and utilize rubrics directly within this area.
- Overall Attempt Assessment: On the right panel, you can input an overall grade and offer comprehensive feedback for the entire quiz attempt.
- Additional Options: A drop-down menu provides access to various options, including.
- Edit Quiz: Modify quiz content as needed.
- Preview Quiz: View the quiz from the student's perspective.
- Reset Evaluation: Revert any changes made during the current evaluation session.
- Quizzes Event Log: Review a detailed log of all actions taken by the user during the quiz attempt.
This updated interface aims to enhance your grading efficiency and provide a more consistent experience across assessment tools.
Attaching Rubrics to Written Response Questions
A significant enhancement in the New Quiz Evaluation Experience is the ability to attach rubrics directly to written response (WR) questions. This feature promotes consistent and transparent grading while providing clear expectations and feedback to students.
Once attached, the rubric will be available during the evaluation process, appearing below the student's response. Instructors can choose to view the rubric inline or in a separate window by selecting the Pop Out option, allowing for a side-by-side view of the rubric and the written response.
By leveraging these new features, you can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your quiz evaluations, ultimately contributing to improved student outcomes.
We hope the New Quiz Evaluation Experience in D2L Brightspace helps streamline your grading workflow and enhance your assessment process.
