Submission Deadline: Friday, August 1, 2025
Event Date: Wednesday, August 20, 9 AM – 4 PM
The Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Online Education (CETLOE) is excited to announce the first GSU TeachFest, August 20th, 2025, held simultaneously on the Atlanta and the Clarkston campuses. TeachFest will be a day to learn new teaching practices and technologies, to share your best tips from the classroom, and to get excited about the fall semester!
We are inviting proposals from people across the GSU community to give short presentations/workshops or participate in roundtable discussions or poster presentations on topics related to all aspects of teaching.
Presentation types will include:
- Workshop – Teach us how to do something! 20-minute presentation on a pedagogical strategy, a tech tool, or anything teaching related! Ex. “Integrating a High Impact Practice into your course” or “Getting started with a SoTL project.” (2 per session)
- Take Ten Talks – an informal 10-minute presentation (there will be 3-4 per hour timeslot). These are ideal for quick “ready-to-go” teaching strategies, “lessons learned” type presentations, or “Ten Ways to…” presentations (ex. Ten Ways to make your lecture slides more engaging).
- Roundtable Discussion – a 30-minute discussion on a set topic with 4-5 people. Participants can either apply as a group of 4-5 people or as an individual with topics you’re interested in, and we’ll match you with a group! (no tech). Participants will prepare questions for discussion.
On the submission form, you will be asked to indicate which type of presentation and which track you will be presenting on and to provide a brief (250 word) description of your presentation. You will also be able to indicate your campus preference. Please note that you will have the opportunity to make minor changes to your proposal in early August before the program is finalized.
