- Biography
Abby Greenbaum is a Learning Experience (LX) Designer at CETLOE. In her role, Abby collaborates with faculty and other designers to create, develop, and implement courses. Her passion lies in working with faculty to craft a narrative for their courses by creating and identifying assessments, tools, media and other resources to best tell that story.
With over a decade of instructional experience in higher education, Abby has worked as tenured, temporary and part-time faculty. She’s interested in how the individual experiences of both students and instructors, as well as historically exclusive educational structures, impact the learning experience and how design can provide a path for new possibilities.
Previously, Abby was an associate professor of English at Georgia Highlands College. In 2022, she completed her Ph.D. in English at GSU, with a concentration in Creative Writing (Fiction). She earned her M.F.A. in Fiction from the University of Mississippi and her B.A. in History from Brown University. Her essays and stories have appeared in Southern Cultures, Adventure Journal, Ecotone, Atlantic, New World Writing and other places. In addition, she received special mention in the Pushcart Prize anthologies and Best American Sports Writing.
Outside of GSU, Abby can be found reading, planting perennials and going on adventures with her pre-school age daughter.
