David Cotter is a data professional with extensive analytics, research, and data visualization experience. In his current role as Learning Analyst & Researcher at Georgia State University, David strives to empower teaching and learning best practices, faculty research endeavors, and departmental and institution-level initiatives across GSU’s campuses. As a data-driven storyteller with 10+ years working in higher education, David is passionate about equity in public education and enhancing the overall academic experience for all students and educators.
Prior to CETLOE, David served as Director of Communications and Data Analytics for the Center for Urban Language Teaching and Research (CULTR), the Southeast’s first Title VI Language Resource Center. In that role, David led and managed the center’s digital initiatives, developed integrated performance reports with K-12 educator and learner data, and promoted the center’s initiatives among its diverse audience. David has also served on EDUCAUSE’s Young Professional Advisory Committee, IALLT’s Survey Committee, and the Jumpstart College Corps (AmeriCorps).
David holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently an MBA candidate with a concentration in Business Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
In his spare time, David enjoys adventuring outdoors with his wife, exploring new events around town, and using excessive exercise as an excuse to justify all the decadent desserts.
