Mary Peabody is a Learning Experience (LX) Designer at CETLOE. In her current role, she finds joy in helping faculty gather regular and comprehensive student feedback to better inform course design and instruction. She also revels in the opportunity to help students pursue their dream careers by creating assignments designed around practical skills acquisition.
Mary has spent 12+ years teaching in a variety of environments, including high school social studies, English as a Second Language for adults and competitive performing arts. She also has 5+ years experience in education management, teacher training, curriculum & assessment design and institutional accreditation.
After earning a B.S. in Social Science Education from the University of Central Florida, Mary studied at la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica and received an M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Second Language Acquisition. More recently, she earned a Certification as a Construction Worker from Chattahoochee Technical College and became OSHA-30 certified. She is currently pursuing education in Applied Language and International Studies.
Outside of GSU, Mary teaches woodworking classes and volunteers as a director at a non-profit makerspace in Atlanta. She likes spending weekends in the mountains or by a lake in her camper van. She also enjoys puns, craft beer, The Great Gate of Kiev as performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1980 and sleeping.
