- Biography
Trish Nolde is the Assistant Manager for Learning Technology Evaluation with the Learning Technology team of CETLOE, where she evaluates the many software learning tools available to the GSU community, sources new and potentially beneficial learning tools, and expands the resources and documentation available to faculty, staff and students. With 20 years of experience in instructional technology and academic support, Trish specializes in the application of technology to language education. She currently serves on the Board of the International Association for Language Learning Technology as Programs Director and maintains membership in the Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium.
Trish began her career in academia as a Spanish instructor with a B.A. in Spanish Language Education and an M.A. in Spanish Literature. During her time teaching Spanish, she came to value the contributions that instructional technology brought to multi-modal presentation and student engagement. Her doctoral studies in Instructional Technology at Georgia State University focused on student perceptions and independent selections of technology tools in their coursework. Other professional interests include project management for learning technology, gamification, the classroom as a “maker space,” and learner engagement.
When not in front of her computer, Trish has a difficult time deciding which of her many interests to pursue at the moment. She enjoys playing frisbee with her dogs, caring for her chickens, driving her antique tractors, working in her garden and starting too many craft projects. If she’s not at home on her mini-farm, then there’s a good chance she’s at the racetrack as the “Chief Aesthetics Officer and Sandwich Chef” for her husband’s vintage auto racing adventures.
