REACTING TO THE PAST
Powerful In-Class Simulations
Reacting to the Past (RTTP) is a real-time, in-person group simulation where students replay a pivotal historical scenario to explore its context and investigate its causes, complexities and differing possible outcomes.
These simulations cover a wide range of topics and can be deployed across all types of classrooms. The scenarios vary in length; some exercises can be finished in as little as 75 minutes, while others unfold and evolve over the course of several days or even weeks.
React to Engage
Reacting to the Past simulations are high-impact, active-learning pedagogy that has demonstrated to enhance student engagement and learning. RTTP provides engaging course content that allows students to dive into College-to-Career skill building and learn by doing within the immersive experience of a RTTP simulation. When Reacting, students practice skills like:
- Speaking
- Writing
- Critical reading and thinking
- Teamwork, collaboration, & leadership
- Persuasion
- Critical interaction and listening
- Professionalism
- Intercultural and global awareness
- Building trust and developing awareness of the motivations of others
- Awareness of contingency and human agency
- Decision making
